Man the Despoiler encroaches upon the Everglades, but certain shapeshifting beasts refuse to yield. The tension in modern day Miami makes for a thriving spiritual ecosystem that threatens to spill over a blood-soaked Gauntlet. Spirits and Host shards overwhelm any lingering forces the mortals may have scraped together, and werewolf protectorates have written this hot mess off altogether. What remains is a displaced changeling freehold, packs of endemic changing breeds, and supernatural mortals woven among mundane society.
